Our contribution to combating global warming

Global warming is a profound challenge that humanity as a whole needs to address. Science agrees that unless we make significant changes, the impact on our planet will be catastrophic. Joint, worldwide measures are therefore essential, because we all live on the same earth and breathe the same air.

Under the umbrella of DAW, Caparol is actively committed to achieving climate targets. We have been working 100% climate-neutral in administration and in the production processes of our German locations since 2017. With the Climate Strategy 2025, we are pursuing the goal of further reducing the remaining emissions as part of the 2-degree climate target. In the annual DAW progress report, we publish, among other things, a greenhouse gas balance sheet.

We call it #RETHINKWITHCAPAROL

There is so much sustainability behind Caparol

This selection of many measures for more sustainability are implemented every day at the Caparol production and administration site in Ober Ramstadt.

Indeko-plus: 100% climate neutral production

Our premium interior paint Indeko-plus is climate neutrally produced in Germany.

Caparol has been working climate neutrally in production and administration at all German locations since 2017. For this purpose, the power supply was switched to 100% green electricity from renewable energies. In addition, we generate energy from our own photovoltaic system and heat pump. We offset the unavoidable emissions by purchasing emission certificates.

TO INDEKO-PLUS

Responsible energy management

Our administration building is heated in winter and cooled in summer using what is known as concrete core activation. The energy for this comes from a heat pump that does not burn fossil fuels, which means that CO2 emissions can be significantly reduced. In manufacturing, we use the waste heat generated during the production processes to heat the production halls. This saves us a lot of energy and at the same time reduces the CO₂ emissions per tonne of paint produced.
